Volunteers recently acknowledged the first anniversary of Cancer Care Resource, which became established in July 2024 under the Heidi Edwards Cooking for Cancer Foundation.
In the past year, nearly 300 mammograms were funded through a partnership with Michael Alan Furniture & Design’s Sleepless for a Cure, according to the group’s volunteers.
Cancer Care Resource has continued to provide support groups for cancer survivors, comfort bags for cancer patients, and educational opportunities within the community.
Preparation is underway for the 2nd Annual Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the stage under the London Bridge.
